Lord Satyanarayana is the unique combination of Trinity. According to Skanda puranam. It was mentioned in Reva section that the methodology of the vratam was mentioned to sage Narada by none other than Lord Narayana. He is most compassionate to his devotees. Lord Satyanarayana along with his consort Rama are easily pleased.
Hindus in India invariably perform Satyanarayanavratam as part of any auspicious program in the houses on Indian Hindus. This vratam is performed by the new couple soon after their marriage and make them perform the same on every Pournami tithi. Similarly the vratam is performed after entering new house. Thus performance of this vratam provides all benefits to the undertakers, It is believed.

Lord Narayana himself told sage Narada that performance of this vratam will remove worries; gives relief from difficulties, provides riches and healthy children.
