TLCA Sankranthi Celebrations on 25th
New York January 21, 2014: Telugu Literary and Cultural Association (TLCA) Sankranthi and Republic Day Celebrations will be held on January 25th at Ganesh Temple Auditoriam in Flushing, President KrishnasriGandham said in a press release.
Program will start at 3 PM and will continue till night. Tollywood playback singers Raghu Kunche and Usha will entertain the audience.
Mimicry artist Bhaviri Ravi will perform in the program. Actress RojaRamani will be attending the Sankranthi program.
TLCA committee invited everyone to the program on Saturday, 25th.
Started in 1971 by a visionary group of idealists, The Telugu Literary and Cultural Association (TLCA) of New York is one of the earliest Indian Associations in North America and the first Telugu association. The TLCA was formed with the primary goal of promoting the Telugu Literary and Cultural Activities in the NY, NJ and Connecticut Tri-State area. Successive generations of Telugu children and adults have benefited from its tremendous success towards this goal.
Through the efforts of many hard working groups of people, the organization has grown through the years. It is the largest single Telugu association in North America and the founder member of TANA - the Telugu Association of North America in the year 1978.
TLCA has a 13 member Executive Committee to look after its day to day activities. The Board of Trustees are responsible for the long term welfare of the organization.

Looks like the New Year 2014 has started on a very good note for TAMA. There was a ‘never-been-seen scene’ buzzing with crowds, high-voltage programs, busy stalls and what not. TAMA’s newly elected Executive Committee SandhyaYellapragada, VinayMaddineni,VenkatMeesala, NagarajuManthena,AnilBoddireddy,SriniPeddi, Rajesh Yallabandi, KiranGogeneni, ShyamMallavarapu, Sri HarshaYerneni, RajuMandapati, and TAMA Board with Sunil Savili, VijjuChiluveru, NageshDoddaka, Rajesh Jampala, SudhakerBorra, SudhakerVallurupalli, SairamPamulapati, Vijay Kothapalli,DevanandKondur, and Ram Maddi , celebrated with pomp on January 18, 2014 at Berkmar High School, Lilburn GA with unprecedented success.
The event started with a welcome note by Cultural Secretary Anil Boddireddy followed by Ganapati Song while the team lit the lamp. The emcee team, Suresh Korothu ,SravaniRachakulla and JanardhanPannela took over the stage and got the ball rolling in a unique way while Revati, President of Tennessee AndharaSamiti, joined them as a special attraction. An eclectic mix of dances, songs and instrumental featuring classical, folk and film songs were lined up by the TAMA team for the audiences, special attraction of mimicry by Mr Ravi Bhaviri, of the famous “EvadigolaVadide program in TV9, together were a great attraction.
Later President SandhyaYellapragada introduced 2014 Executive Committee Team, thanked the team for coming together to make the event successful. Sunil Savili, the newly elected Chairman of the Board, briefly explained long term project of TAMA board while explaining how TAMA Board has been instrumental in realizing the need for an Office Space and its efforts in owning a new building of its own. Chief Guest of the night Rajinder Singh, Consul Head of Chancery from Consulate General of India, wished the Telugu people for Sankranti.
“Muggulapooti”” was conducted for enthusiastic women, prizes were sponsored by Hotbreads.; a free Mehandi booth was arranged by TAMA for interested women. “Mondugavastepattucheera” a different and unique raffle was conducted, which was sponsored by Vijaya Collections of Atlanta.

A delicious festival dinner was provided by Srikrishna Vilas.
Photography services were offered by Sridhar Vakiti and Praveen Boppana of Vakiti Creations and DJ was provided by Don DJ with support of SrinivasDurgam.
The show was gracefully wound up with thank you note by Vice President VinayMaddineni. Stage decoraton was done by KatyayiniPinnika, PraveenaGunji, SarithaKondapalli, Sudha Reddy, MadhaviNakka, SreelakshmiMadduri and RupaGattu. GopiMulpuri, RajasekarMunaga, Krishna Mahankali helped the cultural team and hospitality.PadmaNimmagada volunteer for Muggulapoti.
