Holy baths in sacred Rivers:

Hyderabad, January 11, 2014: Regarding vaikunta ekadasi feast in Andhra Pradesh, devotees have their sacred baths in sacred rivers like Krishna, Godavari, Tungabhadra etc. on Saturday at very early dawn. Every river town fully
rushed with public who wants to conduct holy baths in the rivers. At srikakulam, vamsadhara river and its linked canals jam-packed with men and women to perform holy bath. At Rajahmundry in East Godavari district, the banks of Godavari river also witnessed heavy rush of thousands of devotees. Nearly 50 thousand had holy baths up to 4 PM today at Rajahmundry. The river Krishna at Vijayawada also floated with devotees and visited kanaka durga temple with awe and reverberance to worship the mighty goddess. It is reported that around 50 thousand public worshipped the durga goddess at Vijayawada.
Vaikunta uttara dwra darshan mahotsav was celebrated with fervour and devotion in the temples notably, Surya narayana swami temple (arasavalli), laxmi narasimha swamy temple (simhachalam), satyanarayana swamy temple (annavaram), sri ranganatha swamy temple (Nellore), Narasimha swamy temple (yadagirigutta) which witnessed lakhs of pilgrims from all over the state and special poojas were performed.
