Florida January 08th, 2014: Vishnu is the preserving or maintaining principle of the universe and Shiva is responsible for dissolution or destruction. This natural functioning of the universe is birth, life and death, therefore we can view Vishnu as the cosmic functioning of life and Shiva as the cosmic functioning of death. Such is the contrast between Shiva and Vishnu. The most unique combination of a pure grand traditional Dravidian style temple of Shiva and Vishnu is the most talked about temple in Florida. The temple is very conventional in style with Raja gopurams and vimana gopurams over each of the main Shiva and Vishnu garbhagrahas.

The most well known temple builder of international repute Chief Architect Dr Ganapati Sthapati of Chennai guided in the building the Shiva Vishnu temple in Florida. Twelve shilpis from Mahabalipuram came to construct the temple. The total area of the temple is approximately 6200 Sq Feet. The temple's architectural style belongs to Chola and Pallava dynasty period for Shiva and Parivar shrines, and Vijayanagara dynasty period for Venkateswara and Parivar shrines. The Ayyappa shrine is built according to the Kerala style of architecture


Ashtotra Archana, Trishati Archana, Suvarnapushpa Archana, Sahasranama Archana, Sathyanarayana Pooja, Grihapravesham, Ayushya Homam, Namakaranam, Annaprashanam, Vidyarambam, Navagraha Homam,Abhishekam, Upanayanam, Kalyanam*, Sreemantham*, Tharpanam or Hiranya Srardham, Wedding Engagement, Sankatahara Chathurthi / Pradhosham / Navagraha Pooja, Kalyanothsavam, Vahanothsavam are the different pooja services which can be done at the temple.                 

Shiva Vishnu Temple of South Florida is located at 5661 Dykes Road, Southwest Ranches, FL-33331The directions to reach the temple from I-75 N is Take Sheridan Street west; make an immediate right on Dykes road. Go past Sterling road. The temple is on the left side.

The temple timings are 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on weekdays.

On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays the timings are from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
