Two children to choose the new melsanthi for Sabarimala
Pathanamthitta, October 16, 2013: The Pandalam Palace Managing Committee (PPMC) has selected two children to choose the new Sabarimala Melsanthi and the Malikappuram Melsanthi for the next one-year tenure through a draw of lots to be held at Sabarimala on Thursday morning. According to a statement issued by PPMC secretary P. Rajaraja Varma here on Tuesday, Vyas J.Varma and Gauthami S.Varma will draw the lots during the Melsanthi selection process to be held at the Sopanam of the Ayyappa temple and the Malikappuram Devi temple respectively. Mr. Varma said the Pandalam Palace had been sending two children for drawing the lots at Sabarimala since the past two years on the basis of a Supreme Court order in 2011. Vyas, son of Jayadeepkumar Varma and Anitha A.Varma, is a LKG student at Sri Sri Ravi Vidya Mandir, Bangalore. Gauthami, daughter of P.K. Sumesh Varma and Chitra Varma, is a Class III student at Jeevan Vidya English Medium School, Neeleswaram. Both the children will reach Sabarimala on Wednesday.
