VHP activists leading the Dharma Sanchara yatra in Kadapa on Tuesday

Kadapa, October 16, 2013: As many as 108 idols of Sri Panduranga Swamy, 108 cows, 108 crore Sri Ramanaama banakas were taken around in a procession as part of Suvarna Prabhasothama Dharma Sanchara Yatra of Sri Chitti Babaji Samsthanam at Sriramnagar in East Godavari district, in Kadapa on Tuesday.

In the yatra organised by Viswa Hindu Parishad and Panchayat Raj AE D. Venkata Reddy, Vedic pandit V. Srinivasacharyulu said serving and performing pooja to the holy cow was Sarvadevatha pooja for the prosperity of the nation. The sobha yatra from Scout Hall at Sankarapuram passed through Apsara Circle, NGO Colony, RTC bus stand, Rajiv Marg, Yerramukkapalli, Koti Reddy Circle, Seven Roads Circle, Sri Krishnadevaraya Circle and Annamayya Circle here. Protection of cow was protection of mankind, he said.

Sri Panduranga Swamy idols were placed in a chariot and VHP activists carried the Sri Ramanaama banakas (books) on their head while cows were taken along in the procession. Vishwa Hindu Parishad State vice-president B. Ramakrishna Reddy demanded an enactment banning cow slaughter. VHP district president K.V. Lakshminarayana Reddy, secretary K. Srinivasulu Reddy, Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad president K. Prabhakar Reddy, secretary Seshaiah, TTD DPP organiser M. Venkata Reddy, Rajoli Veera Reddy, Tambi Subbaramaiah, Ramanayya, Charan Reddy, Subba Rao, Bajrang Dal activists and others participated. The yatra would go on for three days in Kadapa city.
