Devotees at Kulasekarapatnam beach on Monday night

Tuticorin, October 16, 2013: Scores of devotees thronged Kulasekarapatnam, a famous pilgrimage centre in Tuticorin district, and offered special prayers during the Dussehra festival, which ended on Monday night with Soorasamharam. The 10-day festival commenced with flag hoisting at Mutharamman Temple on October 5. Special poojas were offered throughout the 10 days.

Thousands of devotees had converged here on Monday night to witness the Soorasamharam, which marks the killing of Mahishasura.

The town wore a festive look and many devotees were seen carrying offerings to Goddess Mutharamman.

Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation had made available additional bus services from various destinations to Kulasekarapatnam .
