Gandhinagar, October 16, 2013: Asaram Bapu was on Tuesday remanded in police custody till October 19 by a local court in a sexual assault case filed by two Surat-based sisters against him and his son Narayan Sai. Magistrate V.A Budh ordered the police remand to Asaram, 72, in a local court, amid tight security. Asaram was brought to Ahmedabad on Monday on a transfer warrant from Jodhpur, where he was in judicial custody on charges of raping a minor girl. The police want to investigate whether other girls in the ashram were also sexually exploited, the remand application said.
