Nellore, October 14, 2013: A gang of robbers killed the priest and took away the ‘hundi’ of Chintalamma temple in Chemudugunta village in Venkatachalam mandal in Nellore district Saturday midnight.

They murdered the priest Dabbugunta Subbaramaiah, 65 years, when the latter tried to stop them from taking the hundi. The police suspect that local offenders might have committed the robbery and the pujari was eliminated as he may have identified them. The priest was last seen by the villagers around 11.30 p.m.
