Srirangapatna Dasara Concluded
Mandya, October 12, 2013: The five-day Srirangapatna Dasara festivities, organised to keep the tradition alive on the banks of Cauvery at Srirangapatna, concluded on Friday.
A large number of people witnessed the closing ceremony of the Dasara festivities held at the ‘Sriranga Vedike’ erected near Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple.
Artists on Friday did their part for the event by enthralling spectators with scintillating performances.
Mandya Deputy Commissioner B.N. Krishnaiah, Superintendent of Police Borase Bhushan Gulabrao, Mandya Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer P.C. Jayanna and others were present during the closing ceremony of the festivities.
The Srirangapatna Dasara has a history of more than 400 years. This year’s festivities had commenced at Srirangapatna on Monday.
