Durga matha dazzles in various alankarams
The brightly lit Sri Vijaya Durga Devi temple in Kadapa on Thursday.
Kadapa, October 11, 2013: As part of Sarannavaratri festivities, Ashtachatwarimsati kalasa abhishekam was performed with holy water in 48 kalasams to the presiding deity in Sri Vijaya Durga Devi temple at Built-Up junction here on Thursday.
Temple founder S. Mallikarjuna Rao, his son S. Durgaprasada Rao and family members carried the kalasams for the kalasabhishekam. Vedic pandit Subramanya Sarma, temple chief priest Phani Sarma and priests Deepak Sarma, Karthik Sarma and Bhavani Sarma performed the abhishekam and performed phalarchana with a variety of fruits. The deity decorated as Skandamatha on Wednesday night was taken out in a procession around the temple. The presiding deity was decorated as Sri Katyayani on Thursday.
In Sarannavaratri mahotsavam in Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devi temple in Ammavarisala street here, priests performed panchamruthabhishekam, sahasranamarchana and gave mangala harathi to the presiding deity on Thursday. The presiding deity was decorated as Sri Tripurasundari Devi today.
Sri Matkanyaka Parameswari Devi was decorated as Sri Saraswathi Devi in the temple at Rajampet. The priests performed panchamruthabhishekam and gave mangala harathi. In Sri Bhadrawathi Bhavanarushi and Sri Seetharama temple at Hanumappa street here, the deity was decorated as Sri Gajalakshmi.
The deity was decorated in Sri Krishnavatharam in the 11th Dasara festivities in Sridevi, Bhoodevi Sametha Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple in Jayanagar Colony here. Large number of devotees thronged the temples which were colourfully illuminated for the Sarannavaratri festivities.
