Annamayya Floral Chariot left for Tirumala Brahmotsavam seva
A massive floral offering being arranged by devotees at the Santhapet Saibaba temple in Ongole on Thursday for the ongoing Brahmotsavam for Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala.
Ongole, October 11, 2013: The Santhapeta Sai Baba temple here was a beehive of religious activity on Thursday as women with prayers on their lips tied beautiful garlands from loose flowers as a special offering to Lord Venkateswara for the ongoing Brahmotsavam at Tirumala.
Amid religious fervour, the Annamayya floral chariot left for the seven hills with more than 1000 kg of flowers of different varieties and also Basil leaf (Tulasi).
Mr. Alahari Chanchala Rao, president of the Prakasam District Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP) constituted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, said devotees from, among other places, Markapur, S.N.Padu, Chimakurthi, Upugunturu and Chirala brought tied flowers with reverence for the major religious event at Tirumala.
Granite mines baron Sida Venkateswara Rao alone arranged for 500 kg of flowers, added HDPP Secretary Ponnuri Venkata Srinivasulu.
