Vijayawada, October 11, 2013: Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam has thrown open the Mallikharjuna Maha Mandapam for the devotees. The devotees thronging the Indrakeeladri, abode of goddess Kanaka Durga, climbed down the hill from the mandapam. The devotees will enter the temple through queue lines erected from Vinayaka temple. Hitherto the unwinding of queue lines ends at stairway on Arjuna veedhi. With the opening of Mahamandapam, the visitors would have exit the temple at Arjuna veedhi and they need not touch the old stairway.

Sub Collector Dasari Harichandana and temple Executive Officer K. Prabhakar Srinivas and others performed poojas and thrown open the mandapam for convenience of the devotees for hassle-free darshan.

Mr. Srinivas said that the Mahamandapam would be ready in all aspects by December. The construction works of the Mahamandapam had commenced in 2008 with an estimated cost of Rs 20.5 crore.
