Krithis and songs by 50 children during Navaratri Celebrations
Kumbakonam, October 10, 2013: A navarathiri music festival was held at Adhikumbeswaraswamy Temple in Kumbakonam here on Monday night. Nearly 50 children from Thirukodikaval Swaminatha Iyer's music school, which has been conducting the festival for the past 10 years, took part in the festival.
The programme went on from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the children rendered various songs and kritis . Swaminatha Iyer, founder teacher of the school, presided. Veena exponent Malathi Krishnamani took part. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the children by R.Ramanathan, former MLA, and industrialists V.G.Ganesan, Balaji and Vijaya Suresh.
Vishnu Balaji of Vijayendra Theertha Swamigal Mutt in Kumbakonam made the arrangements.
