Tirumala Sri Varu raids on Simha Vahanam
Tirumala, October 8, 2013: On the third day of the ongoing nine-day annual Brahmotsavams on Monday, the processional deity of Lord Malayappaswamy was paraded out around the mada streets of the hill temple on ‘Simha vahanam’.
For the second consecutive day, ‘Snapana Thirumanjanam’ was performed to the deities at Ranganayakula mandapam inside the temple followed by the Unjal seva wherein the idols were put on a swing and gently rocked by the temple priests at the Unjal mandapam.
Earlier, the day witnessed hectic rituals being performed inside the main temple complex since the break of dawn. There was a thin attendance of pilgrims even during the two-time daily processions of the deity - that form the core part of the Brahmotsavam festival.
