Vizianagaram, October 1, 2013: Organising committee of Sri Gayatri temple at Kotha Agraharam here will celebrate “Saranavaraatrulu” beginning on October 5. The celebrations would begin with Sri Ganapathi homam, said Pasumarti Venkata Ganesh, the temple trustee, at a press conference on Monday. Industrialist Narayanam Srinivas would formally inaugurate the utsav. Married women (Muthaiduvulu) would participate in ‘Koti Kumkumarchana’, which is done both in the morning and evening during the navaratri celebrations. Member of the trustee K. Srinivasa Rao said that during the nine days, the Goddess would be decorated in various attires like Sri Bala Triupura Sundari, Sri Annapoorna Devi, Sri Gayatri Devi, Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari, Sri Saraswati Devi, Sri Mahalakshmi, Sri Kanaka Durga Devi, Sri Rajarajeswari, and Sri Mahishasuramardini. The celebrations would close with Anna Santarpana on October 15.
