Swami Vivekananda’s inspiration to present Society
Kadapa, September 30, 2013: Swami Vivekananda awakened the Indian people by his preaching and projected the greatness of Sanatana Dharmam to the world, Arsha Dharmopanyasaka and Rushi Peetham founder Sri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma said on Sunday.
Speaking on “Swami Vivekananda’s Inspiration to Present Society” held as part of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations at Apoorva Kalyana Mantapam, Mr. Sarma said saint-preachers such as Sri Adi Sankaracharya, Sri Vidyaranya Theertha and Swami Vivekananda emerged and made remarkable interpretation of the scriptures whenever people drifted away from Sanatana Dharmam. The world was astounded by Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the Parliament of Religions at Chicago in the U.S., he said.
Everyone should practice their dharma and youth should comprehend and develop a spiritual outlook for their well-being and that of the society. Youth should also imbibe qualities such as good conduct, peace, hygiene, respect towards women and elders and moral values through comprehending the divine preaching. Societies which failed to respect women have perished and hence one should be physically and mentally strong and not be bogged down by weaknesses, he said.
Hari Om Adhyatmika Samstha president K. Srinivasulu Reddy, Viswa Hindu Parishad district general secretary K.V. Lakshminarayana Reddy, Mitra Yoga Centre president R. Ranganatha Reddy and Swami Vivekananda Utsav Samithi members participated. A large number of men, women and youth attended.
