Karur, September 29, 2013: Cadre of the Hindu Munnani staged a demonstration at Thanthonrimalai here on Saturday protesting the discrimination in darshan for devotees at Sri Kalyana Venkatraramana Swamy temple during the Purattasi festivities. Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department officials had given VIP passes to politicians who were misusing them by taking their kith and kin with them using the passes. Led by Munnani district general secretary Suruli Rajan, the protestors raised slogans denouncing the officials for the discrimination as common people had to wait for long hours to get darshan.
