Bangalore International Airport to promote Dasara Celebrations
Mysore, September 29, 2013: To promote Mysore Dasara among tourists landing at the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA), a three-day special promotional campaign has been planned on the airport premises.
As part of the campaign, there will be performances by artistes, and representatives of the Department of Tourism will brief the tourists and distribute publicity materials on the festivities.
Dasara Cultural Subcommittee working president C.G. Betsurmath, who met the airport authorities recently and sought space for the promotion activity, said 12X12 ft space at a prominent location in the airport had been booked for the campaign.
The campaign will be held on October 4, 5 and 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. “The aim is to attract tourists to Mysore,” he told reporters here on Saturday.
There would be six performances, both solo and group, by artistes showcasing the culture and tradition of the State. The artistes, including those from Bangalore, would perform in the backdrop of an artwork on Dasara, subcommittee president K.R. Mohan Kumar said.
