Now Kuchipudi village is Rural Tourism Centre
Kuchipudi, September 28, 2013: Krishna District Joint Collector P. Usha Kumari inaugurated ‘Rural Tourism Centre’ on the premises of Sri Siddhendra Yogi Kuchipudi Kalakshetra here on Friday during the World Tourism Day celebrations.Tourism Department authorities spent over Rs. 40 lakh for the renovation of the two blocks at the Kalakshetra and developed them into the tourism centre in order to woo tourists across the State to Kuchipudi village. “Since Kuchipudi village is surrounded by many tourist-interest locations like the Mopidevi Subrahmanyeswara Swami temple, there was a great need of our presence here to boost rural tourism,” said Krishna District Assistant Tourism Officer G. Ramalaxminarayana.
While many guests who were invited for the World Tourism Day celebrations kept themselves away in the wake of the prevailing conditions, Pamarru MLA D.Y Das and other Tourism officials took part in the celebrations. Two girls, P. Sireesha and V.R.K. Nivedita, belonging to Vijayawada, performed Kuchipudi dance.
