TTD gives Importance to eco friendly projects
Tirupati, September 27, 2013: With an effort to preserve the environment , the Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) would focus on securing eco-friendly projects in the days to come.
Addressing the media persons at ‘meet the press’ programme in Tirupati Press club on Thursday, TTD Executive Officer M.G. Gopal said that an analysis of ‘Environmental Impact Assessment’ report would be considered for every project undertaken by the TTD.
“Future generation has the right to enjoy nature, which would depend on every step we take now,” he added.
Speaking about the decreasing duration of ‘Ekanta Seva’ performed to Lord Venkateswara due to a surge in the number of devotees, Mr. Gopal said that it would be rectified in accordance with agama sastras. He also urged the archakas, employees and devotees to take up their responsibilities in this regard.
Mr. Gopal said that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the smooth conduct of nine-day Brahmotsavam starting October 5.
“Minor repairs are being done to the ‘pushkarini’ and roads. Lord’s swarna ratham is also being readied,” he added.
Mr. Gopal also said that a central control room is being established to address the problems of the devotees and for security reasons all areas would be illuminated.
Expressing his concern on the transport facilities, Mr. Gopal said that talks are being held with RTC and private operators to ensure sufficient buses to the pilgrims.
