Mandya, September 26, 2013: The former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar inaugurated the two-day Kumbh Mela at ‘Triveni Sangam’ at Ambigarahalli in K.R. Pet taluk on Wednesday. This is for the first time a Kumbh Mela is being organised at the ‘Triveni Sangam’ here — the confluence of the Cauvery, the Hemavati and the Lakshmanatirtha.

The former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy suggested the organisers to hold the event every year at Ambigarahalli. A large number of students and folk artistes, among other people, participated in a colourful procession.
