Bidar, September 26, 2013: A three-day Kalyan Parva festival will be celebrated in Basava Kalyan from October 16.

Apart from sessions on Basaveshwara’s ideology and mass prayers, scholars would discuss social and cultural issues, Channabasaveshwar Swami of Basava Mantap said here on Wednesday.

Ashok Kheny, MLA, has been elected president of the reception committee. “We have urged him to invite Chief Minister Siddharamaiah to the function,” the seer said. The committee also plans to invite Sushil Kumar Shindhe, Union Home Minister.
