Infotech contribution to Uttarakhand
Hyderabad, September 26, 2013: Infotech Enterprises has contributed Rs.40 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund towards reconstruction and rebuilding in the disaster-struck Uttakakhand.
B. V. R. Mohan Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director, Infotech Enterprises, handed over a cheque for Rs.40 lakh to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat here on Wednesday.
Later speaking to media persons, Mr. Mohan Reddy said that the contribution was a humble effort from the company as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. The amount was mobilised from voluntary contribution of Infotech employees present globally and a matching grant from the company.
In the last five years, the company had spent over 1 per cent of their net profits towards CSR and had adopted 14 government upper primary schools around the company’s facilities in the city and spent Rs.1.2 crore for providing infrastructure facilities in the schools besides providing free textbooks and uniforms. More than 50 per cent of school students who benefited were girls, he said.
Mr. Reddy said they proposed to spend two per cent of their net profit towards CSR and healthcare.
