RSS Padasanchalan at Tirupathi
Tirupathi, September 23, 2013: Cadres of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) took out a route march (Patha Sanchalan) in the arterial roads of Tirupati on Sunday, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The impressive procession started at Thyagaraja Mandapam and passed through the Theertha Katta Street, Doddapuram, Tilak Road, Netaji Road, Chinna Bazar and Bhavani Nagar to culminate at the starting point. Dressed in the ‘Ganavesh’ (traditional RSS costumes), 400 Swayamsevaks from Tirupati, Puttur, Nagari and Srikalahasti towns took part in the procession.
RSS Regional Head Sundara Ramam spoke on the RSS ideology on the occasion. He dubbed the RSS as the outcome of the clarion call given by Swami Vivekananda to conscious citizens to rise to the occasion. The nation that addresses women from across the globe as sisters, had to make a ‘Nirbhaya’ law to protect the latter, he lamented, hinting at the falling moral values of people.
RSS State President Prof. Sundara Murthy also spoke, while Tirupati district Sanghchalak V.S. Krishna presided over the ‘Samarop’.
