Case against Sri Rama Sene activist
Hasan, September 22, 2013: The Hassan police have registered a case against Janekere Hemanth, president of the Hassan district unit of Sri Rama Sene for allegedly assaulting a student here on Friday. Hemanth allegedly assaulted the boy for talking to a girl and trying to “convert her to Christianity”.
The Hassan Extension police have registered a first information report (FIR) based on a complaint filed by the student.
The case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The boy, in his complaint, said that Hemanth assaulted him and threatened to kill him if he was found talking to any girl again. The complainant, who is studying in a college in Chikmagalur, said that he was in Hassan to collect his marks card. He happened to meet his classmate while on his way to a friend’s house. “Hemanth hit me hard. He scolded me in abusive language,” he said in his complaint.
