22 hours waiting time for Sri Vari Darshan at Tirumala
Tirumala, September 22, 2013: The hill temple here reeled under the impact of a heavy turnout of pilgrims on Saturday. The waiting time for the devotees in the ‘dharma darshan’ queues stretched beyond 22 hours and over 10 hours for those in the ‘divya darshan’ queues. The queues, unlike other crowded days, spilled outside the massive waiting complexes and stretched to a couple of furlongs on the roads.
With many devotees opting for the ‘divya darshan’ tokens to be issued half-way on the footpath leading to Tirumala, the hilly track experienced a steady flow of the trekking pilgrims . The temple administration dispensed with of Rs.300- special entry darshan tickets in the evening.
