Bangalore, September 21, 2013: Of the 19 persons admitted at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital late on Wednesday night after they consumed items prepared for a feast at the Ganesh festival celebrations at Bescom office in Fraser Town, 18 of them were discharged on Friday.

S. Rajanna, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the hospital, said that only one child at the paediatric ward was still in the hospital.

Meanwhile, BBMP authorities conducted a house-to house-survey on Friday in Laser Road to check if more people were suffering from symptoms such as diarrhoea and vomiting. However the authorities have not yet been able to zero in on the food items that made people sick. “As the people who ate the food early on Wednesday afternoon did not suffer from any of the symptoms, our initial presumption is that the slum dwellers probably consumed the food that was stale, which led to their condition.”

The BBMP is waiting for further reports to confirm the same.
