Three dayYakshagana Festival
Udupi, September 20, 2013: Sri Krishna Math/Temple in association with Natyasri Kala Thanda of Shimoga will organise a three-day Yakshagana festival titled ‘Yakshotsava 2013’ at Rajangana here from Friday.
Convener of the troupe Dattamurthy Bhat told presspersons on Thursday that Yakshagana “prasangas” scheduled to be staged are: ‘Raja Ugrasena Sharasethu Banda’ on Friday, ‘Brahma Kapala’ on Saturday and ‘Karna Parva’ on Sunday. The shows will begin at 5.30 p.m. and will conclude at 10.30 p.m.
Vishwavallabha Tirtha Swami of Parayaya Sode Math will inaugurate the festival on Friday. A.M. Chandrashekar, scholar, V.S. Ramamurthy, retired official of Pre-University Education Department, and Ashok Bhat, Yakshgana artiste, will be felicitated on the occasion, Mr. Bhat said.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar, and the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will be the chief guests, Mr. Bhat said.
