Nagapattinam, September 20, 2013: found stolen. The incident came to light in the early hours of Thursday when a shivacharyar’s assistant opened the temple gates for morning prayers. The 2.5 feet high kalasam adorned the gopuram of Abayambigai Ambal Sannidhi.

The temple is administered by the Thiruvavaduthurai Adheenam. The kalasam was plated with 200 gm of gold from a private donor during the kumbabishekam in 1991. In 2005, it was polished with 15 gm of gold.

A case has been registered.
