Prasadam by Voluntery organizations helped devotees a lot

Hyderabad, September 19, 2013: Rows and rows of pandals set up on both sides of the roads welcomed the devotees to come and taste the prasadam . With most eateries closed, these kiosks, run by voluntary organisations, were a godsend for devotees, who gladly obliged, resulting in huge queues.

All major voluntary organisations, especially from the Rajasthani and Marathi communities, business families and Trusts, set up temporary pandals along the M. J. Market-General Post Office (GPO)-Basheerbagh stretch, offering food and water to the devotees. The fare was as varied as the organisations themselves. Hot tamarind rice, pulihora , sweet rice, halwa , cool drinks, sweetmeats, curd rice, Rajasthani delicacies including bhujiya , butter milk, water packets, hot pongal and more were on offer.
