Hyderabad, September 19, 2013: The immersion of Ganesh idols was incident-free at all the major lakes in Ranga Reddy district, which witnessed sparser crowds compared to the previous year. Heavy rain too forced many to stay indoors.

Saroornagar lake, second only to the Hussainsagar in receiving the idols, saw immersion of only about 200 idols up to 5 p.m. – a lot lesser than previous years.

The eight cranes placed at the lake, remained idle for most part of the day. However, the frequency of idols increased slightly towards evening. By 7 p.m., over 750 idols were immersed in the lake.
