Tirumala, September 19, 2013: Fervour marked the celebrations of Anantha Padmanabha Swamy festival at the temple of Lord Venkateswara on Wednesday.

The festival is usually observed on the auspicious Bhadrapada sukla chaturdasi every year. In connection with the festival, the idol of Chakrathalwar was taken around in a procession to the temple of Bhu Varaha swamy and after the completion of certain religious formalities the idol was given a immersion in the holy waters of the temple pushkarini. The temple priests observed the ‘vratam’ inside the temple by reciting the ‘vrata mahatyam’.
