Rameswaram, September 18, 2013: The town unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Gujarat Bhavan on Tuesday performed ‘milk abishekam” to Lord Siva at the Sri Ramanathaswamy temple here and conducted various homams and yagams, seeking divine blessings for the party’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

After performing the abishekam and offering special prayers at the temple, about 300 party volunteers assembled at the Gujarat Bhavan here and conducted Ganapathy homam, Navagraha homam, Mirutinjaya Japa homam, Dhanvandri homam and Raja Sithi Yagam for the well being of Mr. Modi.

BJP national council member K.Muraleedharan, who organised the special prayers and rituals, said the Raja Sithi Yogam was conducted to seek the divine blessings for Mr Modi to become the Prime Minister of the country. Gujarat Bhavan office bearers Pankaj Bhai, Suresh Bhai, BJP town President Muthuselvam were present on the occasion, he said. At the end of the rituals, free saris were distributed to about 200 poor women, he added.
