Viswa Hindu Parishad is against for Islamic University near Tirumala
Kadapa, September 16, 2013: Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal leaders demanded that the government institute an inquiry and stop construction of an Islamic University near Thondawada along the pathway to the sacred Tirumala temple.
VHP district honorary president Byreddy Ramakrishna Reddy told a news conference that such acts would hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community.
‘Temple’s sanctity should be safeguarded’
He said that structures by other religious groups should not be permitted in the vicinity of the Tirumala temple and the sanctity of the Hindu religious centre should be safeguarded. Heera Urdu Academic Development Society was constructing a six-storey building for the university.
Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy warned that an agitation would be launched if the government remained unconcerned. VHP district president K.V. Lakshminarayana Reddy, vice-president V.V. Subbaiah, Bajrang Dal district president J. Ganesh, treasurer V. Srinivasulu and district Prachara Pramukh H.V. Subba Rao participated.
