Thrissur, September 15, 2013: Keezhayur Pallisseri Mana Hareesh Namboodiri, 33, was on Saturday selected as the new Melsanthi (head priest) of the Guruvayur Sreekrishna temple.

He was selected by a draw of lots at the temple from candidates shortlisted for the post. Theeyannur Sreedharan Namboodiri took the lot. Tanthri Chennas Vasudevan Namboodirpad and Devaswom Commissioner V.M. Gopala Menon were present on the occasion.

The six-month term of the new Melsanthi begins on October 1
