House sites for Annamacharya descendents

Tirumala, September 15, 2013: As a sign of benevolence, the descendants of the saint-poet Tallapaka Annamacharya were provided with house site pattas by the management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). TTD Chairman K. Bapiraju gave away the pattas to eleven descendants of the poet’s family.

Later talking to media persons Mr. Raju said that the TTD had in its board resolution this year resolved to give house sites to all the 11 heirs free of cost and had sent the proposal to the government for further ratification. The sites have been allotted at Mangalam in Tirupati.

Complex for volunteers

He said that plans are afoot to build a massive complex for the benefit of the Sri Vari seva volunteers at a cost of Rs.70 crore the foundation stone for which will be laid by Chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy during the annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara scheduled in the first week of October.
