Kadapa, September 14, 2013: Nearly five hundred Ganesh idols were installed at various places in Kadapa city on Bhadrapada Suddha Chavithi and were immersed in two spells on September 11 and 13, Sri Vinayaka Chavithi Utsava Kendra Samithi honorary president B. Ramakrishna Reddy and president M. Satish said on Friday.

Nationalist leader Bal Gangadhar Tilak played a key role in infusing confidence among people and organising festivals to portray the culture of society, they said.

They thanked the police, media, revenue, electricity, Roads and Buildings, Fisheries and other departments for their cooperation in making arrangements for the immersion. Samithi secretary K.V. Lakshminarayana Reddy, joint secretary K. Srinivasulu Reddy and members T. Pradeep Kumar, V. Srinivasulu, A.V. Ramana, J.K. Krishna Singh, K. Saran and H.V. Subba Rao participated.
