Ganesa poses with state Political top leaders
Vijayawada, September 14, 2013: Whatever, may be the outcome of the Samaikyandhra agitation, it has definitely brought out the creative best of various people from different segments of society. To add to the list is Vanapalli Jayababu a self-trained sculptor and idol-maker.
A resident of Gollapudi, Mr.Jayababu has not only created a six-and-half-feet eco-friendly Ganesha with clay from the Krishna river bed, but has named it Samaikyandhra Ganesha. And he has every reason to do it!
Apart from placing the idol of the elephant-headed God inside a pandal, he has mobilised the youth and children of his neighbourhood to don the mask of different leaders from both the regions of Seemandhra and Telangana and squat in front of the idol.
When asked about the idea, he said, “It is simple, we are asking Lord Ganesha to inject some rational thinking into the minds of the leaders from both the regions and the Congress president Sonia Gandhi, so that they keep the state intact. If the leaders think in a united way, then the state will not be bifurcated.”
