Dindigul, September 11, 2013: Violence marred Vinayagar idol procession in Batlagundu here on Tuesday night.

Some persons pelted stones on the idol procession from the roof of a place of worship near Batlagundu bus stand. Windscreens of two buses were damaged, and Nilakottai Tahsildar Sankaranarayanan and a few Hindu Munnani cadre were injured in the attack.

HM cadre blocked Dindigul-Batlagundu Main Road seeking adequate protection to the devotees and the procession.
