Tiruvannamalai, September 9, 2013: Six waterbodies have been identified for Vinayaka idol immersion in Tiruvannamalai district.

Collector A. Gnanasekaran in a release has mentioned the waterbodies and time and date for immersion:

Thamarai Kulam, Tiruvannamalai; Singarappettai Eari, Chengam and Kuppanathan Check Dam (September 11, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m), Suganathi, Vandavasi (September 11, 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Poomathu Setti Kulam, Vandavasi (September 12, 2.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.), Erayur tank (September 11, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.).

Idols made of clay alone should be immersed and not those made using chemicals, the release said.
