Vivekananda Rath reaches Thanjavur by 25th September
Thanjavur, September 8, 2013: Rath yatra, flagged off from Coimbatore, to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, would tour Thanjavur town for three days from September 25. S.Suresh Moopanar, president of Citizens committee, formed to accord reception to the rath yatra, said that an elaborate plan has been chalked out to receive the yatra and take it to various places.
The yatra would visit Big Temple and various educational institutions.
The yatra would arrive from Pudukottai district on September 25.
It would be received with Poorna Kumbam and other pujas at Kantharvakottai by the committee.
The yathra would also visit the railway junction where a plaque has been kept on the visit of Swami Vivekananda to Tamil Nadu.
On September 27, it would proceed to Kumbakonam.
