Hyderabad, September 9, 2013: The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB), in association with NGOs, would be conducting a series of mass awareness programmes in 150 wards of the GHMC to promote eco-friendly Ganesh idols. The APPCB would distribute free of cost 150 clay idols, each of five-feet height, to all ward community centres selected by GHMC, PCB Member Secretary Sanjay Kumar said.

The PCB has also proposed to set up stalls at Sanatnagar, Erragadda, Ameerpet, Secunderabad Ganesh Temple, Nampally Exhibition Grounds, Mehdipatnam Rythu Bazar, Koti, NTR Park, Saroornagar, LB Nagar, Uppal, Tarnaka, Habsiguda and Dilsukhnagar for preparation and distribution of five-seven inch idols at a subsidised rate of Rs.12.50 per idol.
