Tirumala, September 9, 2013: The TTD management has resolved to ‘e-auction’ 148 tonnes of human hair on September 26. The hair of the devotees, who got their heads shaved at the TTD’s Kalyanakatta at Tirumala in fulfilment of their vows till August of this year, is put at around 148 tonnes. The hair will be auctioned by the government-run Metal Scrap Trading Corporation (MSTC). The TTD management hopes to net a whopping Rs.60 crore from the auction.
