Karaikal, September 7, 2013: A consultative meeting on administration-civil society cooperation for Vinayaka Chathurthi festival was organised here at the collectorate under Collector A.Muthamma on Thursday.

Members of Peace Committee and representatives from Hindu Munnani and Karaikal Chamber of Commerce took part in the meeting organised to deliberate on the smooth movement of Vinayaka idol procession scheduled for September 11.

The procession will take the same route as the previous years and will commence at noon and conclude at 6 p.m.

The charted route will be well lit and encroachments will be removed.

The police administration has envisaged to deploy 50 Indian Reserve Battalion along with 200 police personnel.
