Rules and regulations for Ganesh Mandals

Bidar, September 5, 2013: Santoshamma Pundalikappa, Zilla Panchayat president has appealed to residents to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi festival peacefully.

At a meeting to review preparations for the festival, she urged Ganesh mandals to ensure no inconvenience is caused to the public during the five-day long festival.

K. Thiyagarajan, Superintendent of Police told the meeting that there were 979 public Ganesh idols in the district last year.

He asked mandal representatives to inform the police about the route and timing of immersion processions and added that a time limit will be fixed for processions in each city.

P.C. Jaffer, Deputy Commissioner, urged mandal members to inform the Ganesh Maha mandal and the district administration in case of installation of new idols and asked them not to block or dig up roads.

He urged the Bidar City Municipal Council commissioner to set up mobile toilets at places where crowds were expected.
