Visakhapatnam, September 4, 2013: Arrangements being made by different department for the immersion of Ganesh idols from September 9 to 13 and for Dasara celebrations from October 5 to 13 were reviewed by Joint Collector P.Usha Rani and Sub-collector D.Harichandana, respectively, here on Tuesday.

The Joint Collector said that immersion of idols would be allowed only at Bhavani and Durga bathing ghats. Special cranes would be provided for the immersion of the idols. Over 1,800 statues from different areas in and around the city and from places as far as Jaggaiahpet were immersed at these two bathing ghats by devotees last year.

The Road Transport Check Post at Ibrahimpatnam has been asked to provide information of the number of Ganesh idols being brought from outside for better planning.
