The Three day Janmastami festivity began at Kadapa
Kadapa, August 27, 2013: The three-day Sri Krishna Janmashtami festivities began in Sri Muralikrishna temple at Dwarakanagar here with ‘ankurarpanam’ on Monday evening.
Suprabhata Seva and ‘abhishekam’ to the presiding deity will be followed by ‘Sri Sookta, Sudarshana homam’ at 7.30 a.m. and ‘poornahuthi’ at 9 a.m. on August 27, temple committee secretary Alluri Venkataiah said. Balavikas school students would perform a cultural programme in the evening.
‘Thirumanjanam’ would be performed at 4.30 a.m. on August 28, followed by ‘sarvadarshanam’ at 7.30 a.m. and Bhagawad Geetha ‘parayanam’ at 9.30 a.m. Unjal seva would be performed at 5 p.m., breaking utti, chekkabhajana, kolatam and cultural programmes would be held at 5.30 p.m.
The presiding deity would be taken in a procession in ‘nagarotsavam’ at 7 p.m. and the festivities would end with ‘ekantha seva’ at 9 p.m., Mr. Venkataiah said.
Kalyanam tomorrow
Sri Krishna Janmashtami would also be celebrated in Sri Venugopala Swamy temple at Utukur on August 28, temple trustees K. Lakshmidevamma and K. Naganna said. Viswaksena pooja, ‘punyahavachanam’ and ‘panchamrutha abhishekam’ would be performed from 4.30 a.m. ‘Sri Rukmini Satyabhama sametha Sri Venugopala Swamy kalyanam’ would be performed at 10.30 a.m. on August 28, followed by ‘annadanam’ at noon and ‘meravani’ at 7 p.m.
Utla utsavam
The festivities would be performed at Sri Ahobila Matham Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Mochampet on August 29 and 30.
‘Navakalasa snapanam’, ‘thirumanjanam’, ‘sathumurai’ and ‘goshti’ would be performed from 6 a.m. and ‘Sri Vatapatrasai unjal seva’, ‘kolatam’, mass ‘Sri Vishnu Sahasranama parayanam’ and ‘archana’ at 5 p.m. on August 29.
The festivities on August 30 include 'Viswaroopa darshanam' at 6 a.m., Prabhandha parayanam at 7.30 a.m., Thiruveedhi utsavam at 6 p.m. and 'utla utsavam' at 7 p.m. and mangalaharathi at 8 p.m.
