Kozhikode, August 27, 2013: Representatives of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have strongly condemned the ban imposed by the Uttar Pradesh government on the parikrama yatra led by Hindu seers at Ayodhya.

They termed it an assault on religious freedom of Hindus and a blatant attempt to appease minority communities.

Bajrang Dal State samyojak P.G. Kannan and Vishwa Hindu Parishad district president Haridas Guptan and district secretary K.E. Sreejith also warned at a press conference on Monday that the Hindu community would resist any attempt by the government to disrupt the programme in Ayodhya, which, they claimed, was a holy religious ritual for which hundreds of Hindu seers and devotees had gathered in Ayodhya.

They claimed that Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav had assured Hindu seers who had called on him to discuss about the programme that necessary facilities would be provided.

“So the move to block the programme came as a surprise,” they said.
