Immediate action by TTD EO on property transfers
Tirumala, August 27, 2013: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Executive Officer M.G. Gopal on Monday directed the officials to complete all the pending works pertaining to taking over the possession of properties being donated by various individuals in favour of the institution within a time frame of six months.
Reacting to a news article carried in these columns under the caption ‘TTD mum on property transfer requests’, the Executive Officer sternly warned the officials to shed their indolence and endeavour to raise to the expectations of the devotees.
Presiding over a high-level review meeting with senior officials at the TTD’s administrative building at Tirupati, he directed the officials to chalk out an action plan and list out the properties free from legal encumbrances and accordingly initiate steps for taking over the possession. ‘Let us at least respect the sentiments of the devotees with which they have come forward in bequeathing their properties in favour of the institution’ he said. After all, it is only with sheer reverence to the presiding deity Lord Venkateswara that devotees are queuing up in donating their landed properties.
